INFORMATION BEFORE THE HIKE
REGISTRATION • PARTICIPANT PACKAGE • START
The online registration will be closed on the 11th of May, 17.00. After that, new participants will be able to register only during the advance claim of participant packages or in the starting zone on the day of the hike. The number of participants is limited.
EDITING YOUR REGISTRATION INFORMATION
The participant registration self-management system will be closed together with the online registration on the 11th of May, 17.00. Participants, wanting to change their participant information after the deadline, will be able to do so during the advance claim of participant packages or in the starting zone on the day of the hike.
CLAIMING YOUR PARTICIPANT PACKAGE
On the day of the hike, the participant packages will be given out 15 minutes prior to the starting time of your route.
Advance participant pack claim will take place on the 11th of May (Friday) 17.00-22.00 in the tourism information office of Liepāja at the address: Rožu laukums 5/6, Liepāja, LV-3401, Latvia.
Start area – Zvejnieku aleja 11A, Liepāja, Latvia (GPS: 56.509482, 20.992393).
You will be able to start your hike on the designated time interval for your chosen route:
7:00-9:00 100 KM IN 24 HOURS
7:00-9:00 75 KM UNTIL THE DAWN
7:00-9:00 50 KM IN A DAY
9:00-12:00 25 KM IN HALF A DAY
11:00-14:00 10 KM IN ONE GO

DOGS IN THE HIKE
We are delighted, that each year more and more hikers take their pets for a hike as well! This is why on the Coastline Trek’18: Liepāja with Gjensidige hike we will greet them with open paws – your pets will not only go back home full of great memories, but also with unique design dog medals and other prizes!
Keep an eye for special Canis dog zone in the starting area and across the route, where fun activities and healthy treats await for your pet!
We are certain, that you know all too well how to take care of your pet in public events, but simply for clarity, here are some basic rules:
– dogs must be connected to a dog leash at all times and if the breed requires it – have a muzzle on;
– pets and their respected owners clean up after themselves.
I M P O R T A N T!
Please pay close attention to your pets while hiking, as there have been recent reports of dead seals being washed up in the sea cost. Under no circumstances should you allow your pets to interact with the dead seals.
WHAT SHOULD I BRING?
All participants must have:
- CONFIRMATION OF REGISTRATION PDF
- Both printed out and e. versions will be accepted.
- MOBILE PHONE
- Remember to fully charge your phone.
- If available, take your powerbank with you.
- EXTRA CLOTHING
- Warm and especially water-proof clothing, made to be worn in the evening or in colder weather.
- PERSONAL FIRST AID KIT
- Sunscreen, bandages, vaseline and other personal medicaments.
- For the hikers of 50, 75 and 100 km routes:
- A mounted or a hand-held flashlight is a must, as a part of the route will be hiked in the dark and the route will be marked with light reflecting materials.
- It’s a crucial personal safety gadget. The insurance experts from Gjensidige have taken care of all hikers, thus reflector strips are included in all participant packs.
I M P O R T A N T!
Please avoid gathering amber while hiking, as recently there have been instances, when amber-like stones have exploded upon contact and injured people. For the safety of your fellow hikers and yourself, please stay clear of such amber-like stones on the coast.
FOR THOSE REGISTERED WITH A DISCOUNT
Participants with discounted registrations will be required to show a document upon claiming the participant pack, that proves their eligibility for the discount. Participants below the age of 16, can only participate together with their parents, trainers or other responsible adults. Participants from 16 to 18 years of age, participating without their parents or responsible adults, must provide a written agreement during registration on the day of the event.
ARRIVAL • PARKING
When arriving to the event, we recommend to avoid parking near the start zone (Zvejnieku aleja 11A, Liepāja, Latvia, GPS: 56.509482, 20.992393), as there will surely be congestions. If you have booked an accommodation venue in Liepāja, it would be best to leave your vehicle at the venue parking lot and get to the start area by foot or by public transportation.
We kindly ask you to be attentive and carefully listen to the staff and volunteers, regulating the event parking areas.
